LES TERRASSES DU LARZAC

Situated to the north west of Montpellier, the Terrasses du Larzac vineyards are heavily influenced by the cool air from the high Larzac plateau, symbolized by Mount Baudile which peaks at 850m (2800ft). Geographically, it is pretty unique, with day/night temperature variations occasionally as wide as 20°C (68°F) i summer. This means the grapes mature slowly and steadily, resulting in the wines' freshness and aromatic complexity.

Terrasses du Larzac wine producers strive to get the best out of this great terroir, choosing grapes from the five Languedoc varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan) so as to maximise the character of the many different types of soil (clay and limestone, ruffes, pebbles and shingle), each of which influences the grapes differently. Painstaking blending (minimum of 3 varieties) and at least a year of maturing, means the Appellation's wines are truly unique.

SUN, MOISTURE, SOILS AND COOL NIGHTS.... ALL COME TOGETHER HERE TO CREATE GREAT WINE.
